"We are forever grateful to have found Jane. Our toddler was very energetic, and our dog was anxious to the point of aggression. I do not believe we would have been able to keep our dog without Jane's straightforward and kind guidance. She helped us understand our dog's body language and created ways to keep everyone safe and happy. Eventually our dog and toddler developed a new, loving relationship. We highly recommend Jane.”
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Hello, I'm Jane Rosenblum.
For 25 years I've specialized in helping families with dogs and babies. Before becoming a dog trainer, I was a psychiatric nurse working with families and children. This unique background gives me deep insight into both dog behavior and family dynamics.
I've helped hundreds of families go from fear and chaos to confidence and harmony. When parents tell me their dog growled at their baby, I know exactly what questions to ask and which solutions actually work.
“I help new parents go from ‘I’m terrified my dog might hurt my baby and our home is complete chaos’ to ‘I have a clear plan that keeps everyone safe and helps my dog and baby become friends.”
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
All the info you need to know
Q - What if my dog has shown aggressive behaviors or has a bite history?
A - The group will teach parents how to help their dog make a positive, calm adjustment to the baby. Dogs with aggressive behaviors may need help specifically for those behaviors. If you’re not sure if your dog would benefit from your joining the group, you’re welcome to email me and I’ll get back to you.
Q - Is dog training part of the group?
A - This group focuses on the relationship between dog and baby, not standard dog training. You’ll learn how to adjust your home life so your dog feels less stressed and more comfortable around your baby.
Q - What methods do you use in working with dogs?
A - I use kind, humane, positive reinforcement methods only with dogs (and people!).
Q - How much work outside sessions is required?
A - Very little. No dog training “homework”. Instead, parents will learn to recognize their dog’s level of stress and use interventions that will help the dog relax.
Q - What if I miss a session?
A - Group interaction enhances the value of the group, as members share with each other. While unexpected events can come up with a small baby, it is hoped that members will make every effort to attend all meetings.
Q - Why a group format rather than private training?
A - The group format is powerful because members are all living with similar challenges, sharing information and help, and benefiting from the support of the entire group.
Q - Will group meetings be recorded? And will recordings be sent to group members?
A - Yes, and no. Meetings will be recorded so Jane can respond to members’ questions and concerns, and make helpful suggestions for the next meeting. But to maintain privacy and confidentiality, those recordings will not be sent to group members.
